Clinical Context

Used when providing anesthesia for pulmonary resection procedures including pneumonectomy, lobectomy, bilobectomy, and segmentectomy via thoracotomy. Most commonly for lung cancer. Requires one-lung ventilation, careful fluid management (especially for pneumonectomy), and postoperative pain control.
