Used when providing anesthesia for open procedures on the upper two-thirds of the femur not covered by 01232 or 01234. Includes ORIF of hip fractures, intramedullary nailing of femoral shaft fractures, and DHS/sliding hip screw fixation. Common in geriatric trauma patients.
