Clinical Context
Used when providing anesthesia for femoral artery embolectomy or thrombectomy, typically using a Fogarty balloon catheter. An emergent procedure for acute limb ischemia. Requires rapid anesthesia with attention to underlying cardiac disease (embolus source) and limb reperfusion syndrome.
