Anesthesia for all open procedures on the upper ends of the tibia, fibula, and/or patella. Covers general or regional anesthesia for surgical procedures on the proximal tibia, fibular head, or patella.
Clinical Context
Used when providing anesthesia for open procedures on the proximal tibia, fibula, and/or patella including ORIF of tibial plateau fractures, patellar fracture fixation, proximal tibial osteotomy, and tibial tubercle osteotomy. Peripheral nerve blocks provide excellent perioperative analgesia.
