Clinical Context
Used when providing anesthesia for primary total knee arthroplasty for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or post-traumatic arthritis. Neuraxial anesthesia (spinal) with peripheral nerve blocks (adductor canal/femoral) is preferred at many centers for improved outcomes and reduced opioid use.
