Clinical Context
Used when providing anesthesia for open or percutaneous repair of a ruptured Achilles tendon. Common sports injury in adults aged 30-50. Prone positioning required for posterior approach. Popliteal sciatic nerve block provides excellent surgical anesthesia and postoperative pain control.
