Anesthesia for open or arthroscopic procedures on the elbow involving total elbow replacement. Covers general or regional anesthesia for total elbow arthroplasty.
Clinical Context
Used when providing anesthesia for total elbow arthroplasty for rheumatoid arthritis, post-traumatic arthritis, or distal humerus fractures in elderly patients not amenable to ORIF. Brachial plexus block provides excellent anesthesia and postoperative pain control.
