Clinical Context

Used when providing anesthesia for planned cesarean hysterectomy, most commonly for placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) disorders where the placenta has invaded the uterine wall. Requires massive transfusion protocol, interventional radiology availability, and multidisciplinary team approach.
