Clinical Context
Used for MRI-guided focused ultrasound ablation of uterine fibroids with total treatment volume under 200cc. Non-invasive alternative to myomectomy or hysterectomy for symptomatic fibroids. Performed with the patient in an MRI scanner while focused ultrasound energy heats and destroys fibroid tissue.
