Clearing or expression of meibomian gland dysfunction using heat and pressure, with or without gland evacuation. This procedure removes inspissated meibum from blocked oil glands in the eyelid margin.
Clinical Context
Used for meibomian gland dysfunction and evaporative dry eye disease. Applied when conservative measures fail. Improves tear film stability and ocular surface health.
