Febrile agglutinin test measures antibodies to bacterial antigens (O and H antigens from Salmonella, Shigella, Rickettsia, and Proteus organisms) that rise during infection.
Clinical Context
Primarily used to diagnose typhoid fever and paratyphoid infections. Tests for antibody development against bacterial antigens appearing during acute infection.
