Serologic testing to detect antibodies against Trichinella spiralis, the nematode causing trichinellosis from consumption of undercooked infected meat. Confirms infection.

Clinical Context

Indicated in suspected trichinellosis presenting with myalgia, fever, and eosinophilia following consumption of undercooked pork or wild game. Antibodies appear 3 weeks after infection.
