Re-amputation or revision of amputation site of the lower leg. This secondary surgical procedure revises a previous amputation for inadequate soft tissue coverage, infection, or other complications.
Clinical Context
Performed when initial amputation has complications such as skin necrosis, infection, inadequate soft tissue coverage, or pain from neuroma. Allows prosthetic fitting and improves patient function.
