Direct visualization of the larynx with a laryngoscope with removal of tissue for histopathologic examination. Used to obtain diagnostic specimens from laryngeal lesions, masses, or areas of concern.

Clinical Context

Indicated for suspected malignancy, persistent laryngeal lesions, vocal cord masses, or suspicious findings on prior imaging. Essential for histologic diagnosis of laryngeal pathology.
