Double lung transplantation without cardiopulmonary bypass support. Surgical placement of two donor lungs into a recipient with end-stage pulmonary disease without extracorporeal circulation.
Clinical Context
Preferred approach for most double lung recipients who can tolerate the procedure without extracorporeal support. Reduces bypass-related complications while providing better long-term survival.
