Excision of coarctation of the aorta with graft; surgical removal of the aortic narrowing segment with interposition of a synthetic or biological graft to bridge the defect.
Clinical Context
Used when the coarctation segment is too long for primary anastomosis or when tension-free repair is needed. Grafts may be synthetic (Dacron, Gore-Tex) or biological (saphenous vein, homograft).
