Surgical exploration of the chest cavity including resection of one or more ribs, or extensive tissue removal for therapeutic intervention. This is a more complex exploration than 39000.
Clinical Context
Used for complex chest trauma requiring rib resection, repair of thoracic wall defects, or therapeutic debridement. More extensive than simple exploration, often therapeutic.
