Incision of a thrombosed external hemorrhoid. This is an acute care procedure to drain the blood clot and provide immediate pain relief in patients with acutely thrombosed external hemorrhoids.

Clinical Context

Performed for acute thrombosed external hemorrhoids causing severe pain. Most effective within 72 hours of symptom onset when pain is maximal.
