Percutaneous placement of access catheter into the biliary tree with creation of a fistula between the bile ducts and small intestine (choledochoduodenostomy), allowing internal drainage.

Clinical Context

Performed for chronic biliary obstruction when internal drainage and direct ductal-enteric anastomosis are needed. Allows elimination of external drainage.
