Conization of cervix is a procedure in which a cone-shaped portion of cervical tissue is excised, typically using a scalpel, cold knife, or loop electrosurgical excision procedure technique.
Clinical Context
Diagnostic and therapeutic procedure for cervical dysplasia. Provides tissue margins for histopathologic evaluation and removes dysplastic tissue. Indicated for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grades 1-3.
