Burr hole and/or trephination with aspiration of chronic subdural hematoma and/or other fluid collection, with potential placement of subdural catheter.

Clinical Context

Used for chronic subdural hematoma (>20 days), often bilateral. Percutaneous needle aspiration or twist-drill craniostomy may be preferred for initial management; burr hole reserved for failures or complex cases.
