Injection of anesthetic and/or steroid into intercostal nerve, first injection. This is the initial injection of medication to an intercostal nerve for rib or chest wall pain.

Clinical Context

Used for post-thoracotomy pain, rib fractures, postherpetic neuralgia, and other intercostal neuralgia.
