Surgical biopsy of a nerve to obtain tissue for histopathological diagnosis. Typically performed when nerve pathology is uncertain or malignancy is suspected.

Clinical Context

Indicated when diagnosis of nerve pathology requires tissue confirmation, such as in amyloidosis, vasculitis, or suspected malignancy. Must be distinguished from excisional biopsy (64774-64792).
