Surgical sympathectomy of the lumbar sympathetic chain. Interrupts sympathetic innervation to the lower extremities to improve blood flow or reduce pain.
Clinical Context
Indicated for lower extremity CRPS, severe Raynaud's phenomenon, intermittent claudication, or pain syndromes. May be performed open or endoscopically.
