10. Chrome Extension ("RVU Edge - Board Portal Auto-Fill")
The RVU Edge Chrome Extension is a companion tool that auto-fills medical board portal case log forms using data exported from the RVU Edge mobile app.
10.1 Data the Extension Collects
- Case Data: Procedure logs (CPT codes, dates, roles, supervisor names) that you explicitly transfer from the mobile app via a one-time 6-digit code
- Field Mapping Data: Anonymous DOM selectors (HTML element IDs, names, and types) from board portal form pages, submitted to improve portal compatibility for all users
10.2 Data the Extension Does NOT Collect
- Patient names, MRNs, or any patient identifiers
- Portal login credentials or session tokens
- Browsing history or activity on non-portal pages
- Personal health information (PHI)
10.3 Data Storage
- All case data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API (
chrome.storage.local) - Case data is never uploaded to our servers
- Transfer codes expire after 10 minutes and are single-use
- Uninstalling the extension deletes all stored data
10.4 Network Requests
The extension makes the following network requests:
- connect.rvuedge.com: One-time case transfer from phone to browser (via Firebase Cloud Functions). Transfer payloads are deleted after retrieval.
- Community mapping submission: Anonymous form field structure data (HTML selectors only, no user or patient data) sent to Firebase to improve board portal compatibility.
10.5 Permissions
- storage: Persist case queue locally across browser sessions
- activeTab: Access the current tab to fill form fields when the user clicks "Fill Form"
- scripting: Inject form-filling scripts on portal pages
- Host permissions: Access specific board portal domains (acgme.org, absurgery.org, abos.org, abog.org, auanet.org, entnet.org) to auto-fill case entry forms
10.6 Form Submission
The extension never automatically submits forms on board portals. It fills fields only — the user must manually review and submit each case on the portal.
11. International Data Transfers
Your data is stored locally on your device and is not transferred internationally. Third-party services (Google Fonts, App Stores) may process data in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
